I don’t like buzzwords: Sustainability. Eco-friendly. Green. Blah, blah, blah.
I do like watching things grow, using what I have, spending as little as possible, eating food that’s never been wrapped in plastic, growing things that belong in my climate, minimizing the use of artificial things. I live on a small lot in an older suburb of Cincinnati. The yard was untended for years and what isn’t grass in hard clay is weeds. Make that native plants.
I have four children: Four, three, and twin babies. The older ones like to dig in the dirt; the little ones like to lie on a blanket and watch us. I have a husband too, but he doesn’t garden, he just likes to eat real food.
